Q. How much younger will I look?
A. Our physicians will give you realistic expectations as to how the Refresher Lift can help you age gracefully. Turning back the clock is one thing; turning it back too far produces unnatural results. In general, we expect our clients to achieve close to an extra decade of “refreshed beauty” and in certain cases, more.
Q. Am I a good candidate for the Refresher Lift?
A. Generally, anyone from about their mid-30s on who is displaying the typical signs of facial aging is a good candidate for the Refresher Lift. Some of those aging signs include:
- Neck jowls (sagging in the lower face around the neck area)
- Loss of fullness in the cheeks
- Skin drooping below the eyes
- Nasal-labial folds (lines running from the nose to the corners of the mouth)
In addition, the Refresher Lift can be very effective in
refreshing a full face lift that may have been done years
earlier or for someone who wants to “ease” into facial
rejuvenation.
What the Refresher Lift does not correct is aging
signs in the brow area, the eyelids, and lax neck skin (aside
from jowls), but these can be “add-on” procedures completed
simultaneously with the Refresher Lift upon request.
Q. How safe is the procedure?
A. The procedure is much shorter and less invasive than the conventional face lift, and with our highly trained surgeons, it is a very routine procedure. It only requires local anesthesia but can be done under general anesthesia at a patient’s preference. Just like any surgery, however, there are risks of complications, the most common of which are bleeding, hematoma (bleeding under the skin), nerve injury (though uncommon) and infection (usually preventable with antibiotics following surgery).
Q. Will my surgery take place at an accredited surgical facility?
A. We’re glad you asked! All our Trusted Network of Surgeons either operate in surgical suites accredited by their state and the American Association for the Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgical Facilities or has privileges at hospitals in their region with such accreditation. Our physicians are held to the highest levels of patient safety, as are their surgical facilities.
Q. Are there other alternatives I might consider for facial rejuvenation?
A. Absolutely. There are many “beginning” solutions for those that have minimal signs of aging and more extensive procedures for those for whom the Refresher Lift cannot achieve all desired objectives. Our goal at Refresher Lift™ is to find the right solution for you at this point in time. If not now, the Refresher Lift may be ideal later — a few, or a number of years down the road — and when you’re ready, we’ll be here.
Q. Are all surgeons Board-Certified Plastic Surgeons?
A. The answer will always be a resounding “Yes” within our Trusted Network of Surgeons as we only accept the most highly qualified Board-Certified surgeons within our network and they must be qualified within the Plastic Surgery sub-specialty. Be wary of physicians who are Board-Certified but not in Plastic Surgery. You don’t want to trust your facial beauty to a doctor who might spend his or her day removing moles and varicose veins and then moonlights in cosmetic surgery. The Plastic Surgery specialty requires years of extra training to fine tune very intricate procedures and skills.
