The Face Lift Recovery and Healing Process

After surgery, nature will finish the transformation initiated by your plastic surgeon. Though at first, you’ll take one step backward, feeling a little uncomfortable and looking worse for wear, that will quickly be followed by several steps forward, and you’ll be on your way to a new you.

During the first 1-2 days following surgery, you’ll want to rest at home (or at the Vinoy). Starting with the third day however, although you will still be a little bruised and maybe feel itchy around the stitches, you’ll probably want to go venture out. Below are pictures of a patient who had a Refresher Lift, brow lift, and fat injection to the lips from the day before surgery to 30 days post-op. The patient is herself a nurse in a plastic surgery center. Her husband took pictures of her each day subsequent to surgery and she recorded how she felt on those days. These pictures are a good example of the healing process which you too, might undergo.

	I'm 54 years old and tired of aging! I've developed a matronly look. They call me Nurse Ratchet at the clinic.
	This my 2nd day after surgery, I have lots of swelling, my features are distorted but the discomfort is very modest.
	The swelling has increased and I'm a little anxious or “snappy” as my husband has noted.
	Yes! The swelling is subsiding, my features are returning to normal. Today feels like my turn-around day. No more pain.
	A little improvement since yesterday. Less swelling, and now I can look in the mirror and visualize what the final result will look like.
	Back to work, my stitches have been removed. A little makeup helps cover the fresh pink tiny scars. A fresher look is definitely evident.
	I feel like I'm back to normal. My skin looks so much more vibrant and the swelling is almost gone completely.
	More improvement. I'm so excited about my new look that seems to grow better each day.
	Only nine days since my surgery and I feel absolutely vibrant.
