Are you a candidate for the Refresher Lift?
Factors to Consider
Age Appropriate Considerations
To start with, if you’re between your mid-30s through your 60s, and have never had a facial lift procedure before, you are a candidate for the Refresher Lift. That being said, if you are on the higher end of that age range, a full face lift may be in order, though the Refresher Lift may still be appropriate if you just want a modest “refreshing” or are adverse to the more complicated surgery of a full face lift.
For those that have had a full face lift prior, a Refresher Lift can serve as a "tune up" to keep that face lift looking beautiful and natural.
If you’re on the younger end of the age spectrum, the Refresher Lift may help you stave off many years, or we may advise you that alternatives such as injectables and fillers will do the job for the time being.
Generally, for those not having had prior lift procedures, if you’re in your 40s to 50s, you are a prime candidate for the Refresher Lift.
What the Refresher Lift does not correct is aging signs in the brow area, the eyelids, and lax neck skin (aside from jowls), but these can be “add-on” procedures completed simultaneously with the Refresher Lift upon request. Everyone ages differently, however, so there are no hard and fast rules. That’s what our trusted surgeons do ... help YOU to make decisions on an individual basis.
Aging Naturally
Also please take into consideration when choosing a facial procedure whether it will help you age gracefully. Too many facial procedures eliminate excess skin without compensating for a loss of facial volume, resulting in a windblown look. (See Refresher Lift Overview). As we age, facial skin loses elasticity while the volume in our cheeks tends to fall. You can’t correct one condition without the other, and still look natural. The Refresher Lift addresses both situations for a balanced, natural appearance.
Downtime vs. No Time
The amount of downtime involved in a procedure is also a consideration. The Refresher Lift has minimal downtime (please see The Process) while a full face lift can have considerable downtime. Injectables and fillers, which are temporary solutions for facial rejuvenation, really have no downtime at all – but they are temporary solutions, typically lasting 3-12 months, while the Refresher Lift produces results that may last for many, many years to come.
